Armour in Fate
by Dotun Adesida
As the title suggests, only faith
can offer protection against harsh conditions, in a place torn by civil
war, food shortages, and scarcety of medical supplies.
Written in a natural style, this book is a testimony to African
realities, especially to Nigeria – a populous country, divided on lines
based on different choices of Gods.
After pleading with God to spare his life, the hero, in spite of the
civil war around him, becomes a Christian and goes to study religion,
further. The author presents the reader with a genuine portrait of
Nigerian life, and unfolds a rich tapestry of old customs practiced in
local villages, and life in a major metropolis like Lagos.
Help a new writer
The Writer's Workshop is a place for new authors to list the first draft of their novel.
They work with a mentor who will help them develop the manuscript to its final stage.
Many of the manuscripts that are submitted for assessment do not meet the Globusz OZ standards criteria, and are therefore not selected for inclusion in our eLibrary.
However, a number of manuscripts are identified by the assessment team, for their potential. The team members see value in the story, and identify that the writer's inexperience, or in some cases, their lack of English language skills, is the reason why the work falls below our standard.
When this happens, the team recommends the work for inclusion in our Writer's Workshop eLibrary as a First Draft eBook.
First Draft eBooks are compiled straight from the manuscripts. They have had little, if any, editing, and they require a great deal of work before they are ready for inclusion in the Globusz eLibrary.
We currently have one title in the Writer's Workshop, and we're looking for a dedicated mentor, or a team of mentors, who will work with the author and help him develop the work to the next stage.
We believe the author has potential, but as English is not his first language, he is having a degree of difficulty writing his thoughts fluently.
If you would like to assist this new author please so we can introduce you to him.
Readers can download First Draft eBooks and they can send their comments to us as well. Receiving feed-back from readers can help add a new dimension to the work's development.

Dotun Adesida
Dotun Adesida is the forth child, and first born son, of relatively poor Nigerian family, that can trace its ancestry to a prestigious blue-blood lineage.
Born and raised in Akure, the Kappa of Ondo, a state in West Nigeria,
Dotun’s family was relieved of the financial burden of his education
through a generous sponsorship program. He completed his primary and
secondary schooling in his local community. As a student Dotun displayed
exceptional written expression ability. His passion for writing, and his
natural talent, made him realise that he could use literature as a
vehicle to express his ideas, and his vast knowledge of his countrymen
and women, to help people from other cultures gain insight into his
beloved Africa.
Dotun quickly identified literature’s power to educate, change
stereotypes and promote political values, and he quickly became
committed to using that power to transform attitudes.
He is currently studying law at an institute of higher learning, and
recognised his true vocation as a teacher. When he completes this
course, he hopes to have the opportunity to study Caribbean Literature
and Politics at the University of Columbia.
Other work by Dotun Adesida include: Ponderous Shadows and
Gone Till Dawn, which he completed in 2003. Both of these titles are
currently being prepared for general publication.
