JUST A THOUGHT

Authors often ask us why we give our eBooks away free.

 

Many of them tell us they only want to sell their work. They say they have worked hard to produce their books and they expect readers to reward them for their efforts.

 

We agree. We think authors should be rewarded for the long hours it takes to develop the work.

 

We ask them to tell us how many publishing houses have offered them a contract to print their work?

 

The answer is usually, none.

 

And that's why we give our eBooks away.

 

We know new authors need to build their readership if they want people to buy their work.

 

Globusz provides the opportunity for authors and readers to meet.

 

We checked a couple of our author's eBooks and we found that on average the popular titles are read online around ten times per day.

 

That means a new book is read 3650 times in the first year it's made available.

 

If an author has two titles listed that's 7300 new readers for twelve months.

 

Suppose then, that when we open our online retail book store, the author lists two new novels in the second year and charges a small price for them, let's say $10 per novel. This would mean 7300 readers would be paying the grand sum of $73,000 to download their work.

 

That's not a bad income for a new author. It's probably enough to cover their living expenses so they can write full time. Then they could give up their day job and become a professional writer. The primary goal for everyone who is serious about their writing.

 

That's why we give our books away!!!

 

The first thing a writer needs to do, is to develop a public profile and to get people reading their work.

 

Step 1: Become known

Step 2: Write often

Step 3: Do everything you can to become a full time writer.
